Whilst we provide a selection of board games on our boats for your use I am sure, like most people, you will have a number of family favourites in the attic. Why not encourage your ‘Family’ holiday experience by bringing them along with you. When our children were growing up and we took them out on the boat we never switched the TV on. By the time they had been out in the fresh air, helped with the locks, steered the boat (under supervision), walked the towpath and played games as a family the TV and Gameboy (or whatever the favourite electrical gadget was at the time) was long forgotten.
Our boat holiday short breaks run from Fri 2.30pm to Mon 9.00am / Mon 2.30pm to Fri 9.00am / Bank Holiday & Easter Fri 2.30pm to Mon 9.00am. We also accommodate week and multiple week boat holiday bookings which gain great discounts.
We have ample open air parking and we take every precaution to ensure the security and safety of your vehicle. All vehicles are left at the owners’ risk.
If you do decide that you would like to move the boat and go out and about on the canals ample instruction is given on handling the boats on your arrival, once you have settled in. It usually takes about an hour depending on the locks. All boats have forward gear, a reverse gear and tiller steering. You push the lever forward and your off, it’s as simple as that! Tiller steering is precise and you have all the boat in front of you. With most people, ten minutes’ instruction gives them all the confidence they need, but we also demonstrate the locks and give advice on mooring, navigation and safety.
Whether you stay static or you travel north or south from our base in Stone there are a number of visitor attractions that can be easily accessed from the canal.
