Another fabulous day out perhaps this time starting with lunch. At Tagoror near Barranco de Guayadeque there is a famous cave restaurant, where traditional music and wine can accompany your food! So after lunch you could explore the area which is home to one of the biggest lizards species in the world, this is the Lagarto Canarion which is an area of outstanding natural beauty suitable for walkers.
Barranco de Guayadeque is an evergreen valley, and home to an important pre-historic burial ground in caves. The valley itself has many endemic species of plants, Cacti, Agaves, Poppies, Palms and Almond trees all growing in abundance amongst its slopes. If you choose just to drive through the area the scenery can then be enjoyed without too much physical effort!
If you enjoy walking you should also visit, Roque Nublo.
At the Southern part of the island is the pretty village of Puerto de Mogan, quite often referred to as ‘little Venice’, because of the interconnecting array of tiny bridges. Along the marina, you'll find an assortment of restaurants and bars, while the old town area is full of quaint, Mediterranean homes and cottages climbing up the hillside.
Another lovely fishing village can be found closer to your boat at Puerto de las Nieves
Puerto de Las Nieves is a picturesque village on the north coast of Gran Canaria. Filled with charm, Canarian character and atmosphere, it has become a popular place to visit in recent years ,ideal for a day trip or if you want to go island hopping as the ferry to Tenerife departs from its harbour.
The little harbour, is a great place to enjoy a stroll in the sunshine. At sunset the views are simply breath taking, with Tenerife’s Mount Teide in the distance as well as stunning countryside and pristine sea waters ideal for swimming.
A local delicacy is served here and is too good to miss: the caldo de pescado, a stocky fish soup. Visitors are drawn to this picturesque village for its serenity and surroundings rather than the hustle and bustle of a popular mainstream resort.
However you decide to spend your week whilst on your boat, from just relaxing on beaches to climbing mountains one thing is for sure, you won’t be bored, there is so much to see and do in Gran Canaria. Why not book it now.
